Lai Moh'dMinister of Information and Culture, Nigeria, Mr Lai Mohammed responded to a series of questions in a telephone interview with FRCN over the President Buhari’s well-being, his vacation extension, and information management on social media.
"When Mr President was traveling, he notified the national assemble as constitution including Nigeria are concern about the activities of social media.”
The Minister debunked the fake news that he had issued a statement on the failed planned arrival of the President due to repairs on all the presidential aircrafts, and warned on the powers of the social Media.
“It is too much power without control, today with a smart phone, anybody can post anything and nobody even bothers to check whether these stories are true or not…”
The minister added that the government will not gag freedom of the press, but stressed that fake news is dangerous to the polity
