On her way to the airport, Hadiza mulled over her conversation with Mustapha an hour ago. She could still hear him pleading with her not to fail him. But he hasn’t told her what she will be doing in Calabar and had merely ordered her out of her leave to get on a plane to Calabar and await further instructions.
Mustapha, The coordinator-General and Director, Central command, was like a father to her. In fact she was bearing his name as her surname. It was he who picked her up from the streets when she was only14, homeless and without hope, cleaned up and gave her meaning to life.
Haven trained her from elementary school to College; he brought her into the Secret Service after bagging a degree in Mathematics. She grew up to love and respect him as the only family she know and ever had. She was prepared to do anything for him.

“Hello, Office of the President, please”
“This is the CG, DCC of the SS; I want to speak with the President”
“Alright, hold on for the President”
After a few moments, the president’s voice came online
“Hello, Mustapha”
“Hello, President Hammed”
“Is it in motion?”
“Yes, Mr. President”
“Who do you say is handling it?”
“A favourite of mine, never failed for once”
“Let’s hope your favourite delivers without a hitch”
“You can count on my words, Mr. President”
“Keep me updated, and do that through my
cell”
“Yes, Mr. President”
The line went dead and the President took a deep breath. He has just fully committed himself to Mustapha’s plans.
Laying back on his oval chair, his mind went back to where it started all.
Director Mustapha had rushed to his official residence a week before requesting to speak to him on a very grave matter.
It turned out that a young officer of the SS, manning the satellite communications control room, Felix Jibola, had stumbled upon a very powerful computer programme by sheer act of fate. He informed his superiors after ascertaining its authenticity. A full scale investigating was ordered and turned out for real that someone was in possession of a kind of override programme that never existed nor was thought possible before.
If used by the military, the most likely destination, dissident elements within the military will then have the power to decide the fate of the President and his administration in such a way that no one will know.
He convinced him to let him get such programme and turn it for the President’s advantage, making him able to see 10 for every 2 anybody else would. And because, he, President Hammed was both lofty and oddly ambitious, he had accepted Mustapha’s plan and kept the issue away from the National assembly, the National Executive council and even his closest advisers.
Mustapha had informed him of a background counter mission to intercept the programme from the SS agents sent on the mission as soon as they gain it.
“Who’s doing it?” he had asked
“I shall let you know when I set it in motion” Mustapha had replied him in code
President Hameed, for old time sake, thought his prodigy and henchman meant him well as he had sounded.
He, however, had no idea who Abubakar Ahmed Mustapha had become over the years.
